This one goes way back. Aug. 15-17, 1995. This is easily the oldest among the other songs on Land of the Living.
Working alongside a girl named Katie in the summer of 1995 in Colorado, I learned that she dealt with some of the same issues and struggles that I had. I had hoped to encourage her a little by writing this for her. Since it was written late in the summer I only had the chance to play it for her one time before we left for home, but I promised her that if I ever got around to recording it I’d send her a copy. We fell out of touch over the next several years and only recently was I finally able to get in touch with her again and send her the finished song that bears her name and imprint.
